Lightning System Information

The park district has a lightning prediction system at Martin Park.  Play will be suspended when severe weather is approaching and the system is activated.  When the horn sounds (15 seconds), players should clear the field and seek shelter immediately.  Wait for the all-clear sound (3 short blasts) to resume play.  If the severe weather has not passed after 20 minutes, play should be cancelled.  Umpires will enforce this procedure.  If there is no warning, but you can hear thunder or see lightning, please take cover.

All players must call this number to get an updated rainout message.  No calls will be made from the park to notify teams of rainouts. 

 

NO PARKING ON THE STREET - south of fields by 1st base foul line during ballgames.  Violators will be ticketed.
